What is that weird, sad deflated toy on the ground you ask? Well, it's what Simon's been working on for about a year and a half.

The inside ball of the jolly ball. He's been working at that since he first laid his eyes on that shiny new toy (Christmas 2008). Now battered from teeth, weather, and hitting every single thing in my backyard (including a few times I chunked it accidentally into the window - none broken thankfully), the jolly ball has given up it's prize.

Simon's really not that upset about it as he's still looking to dunk it in the pool. No worries buddy, we're just dumping that old hot water...

Ah, refreshing. The jolly ball sans middle ball can still be fun.

What Simon did for summer vacation - laid in the pool and panted.

Did a random (cute) Cairn terrier wander into our yard? Oh, no, that's just Lizzie turned a nice shade of brown with her regular dirt lounging.
But check out what's next - it's like a big foot sighting...

Yep, that's Lizzie PLAYING. In the pool. WITH A TOY. Stop the presses...

This only lasted about 10 seconds but I was ready to capture the moment before it too passed into her usual sunbathing.
We've got a new jolly ball lined up for Simon - that's one of the benefits of running a website out of your house. I might have a warehouse in my dining room, but when Simon defeats a toy, we've got the replacement ready to go.
RIP jolly ball. maybe i should get one of these for Dash. seems like a pretty popular toy in everyone's blogs...
